Millionaire launches petition to shut down public pickleball courts, but has her own private court in backyard.

San Francisco millionaire Holly Peterson has launched a petition to shut down the public pickleball courts in her neighborhood, but internet sleuths have found that she has her own private pickleball court in her backyard.

Peterson and her neighbor Mary Tesluk started the petition last week, claiming that the pickleball courts are a nuisance because of the noise they generate and the impact they have on the environment. They also said that the courts are depressing property values and creating a safety hazard.

However, it was later revealed that Peterson has her own private pickleball court in her backyard. The court is located in a 106-year-old Tudor-style mansion that Peterson shares with her husband, Karl Peterson, a venture capitalist and co-founder of the discount travel website Hotwire.com.

The mansion, which is currently on the market for $36 million, also features a karaoke room with a disco ball and a wet bar.

Peterson has not responded to requests for comment on her private pickleball court.

The petition to shut down the public pickleball courts has so far gathered 94 signatures. However, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department general manager Phil Ginsburg said he is not concerned about the petition.

“Not everyone can afford a pickleball court in their backyard,” Ginsburg said. “That’s why it’s nice to have them in public parks.”

The petition is still active and it is unclear whether the public pickleball courts will be shut down.
